A group of concerned Ashe County residents gathered in 1983 to address hunger and provide assistance to those needing help in our community. Thus, the Ashe County Sharing Center (ACSC) was established. The ACSC Food Pantry is our main pantry with many other programs operating under its umbrella. Over the past several years, our outreach has grown and become better equipped to address hunger in our area. Clients may visit once a month to receive a variety of healthy food choices. Today the ACSC has 125+ volunteers who believe in our mission: “The Ashe County Sharing Center is an ecumenical organization whose mission is to provide food for those in need throughout its extended community.”
